Municipality of Nice
The Municipality of Nice has been a longstanding and valued partner in our reforestation efforts, with numerous successful planting initiatives across the city. Thanks to the strong commitment of Mayor Christian Estrosi, who won the Climate Action Award in 2023, Nice has become a leader in urban climate action. Mayor Estrosi’s dedication to sustainability has been instrumental in supporting our collaboration on impactful projects.
The city has also made a significant push to become even greener, with a pledge to plant one tree per inhabitant. Life Terra has proudly joined this initiative, donating 10,000 trees to the campaign. One of the standout projects is the Miyawaki forest in Square Victoria, where we helped transform a former car park into a green space. This project was the first to be certified, and Mayor Estrosi received Life Terra’s first Carbon Removal credit for it.
In addition, five citizen tree-planting events were organized during the season, all of which were a total success. These events strengthened community engagement and laid the groundwork for future collaboration, with plans to plant 25,000 more trees in the upcoming season. This progress has only been possible thanks to the unwavering support and commitment of the Municipality of Nice, setting an inspiring example of climate action and community involvement.
