Trees for Amsterdam: Life Terra x De Gezonde Stad

Amsterdam is growing rapidly, but its green spaces aren’t keeping pace. To address this, Life Terra proudly supported the "Trees for Amsterdam" campaign, organized by De Gezonde Stad (The Healthy City). This initiative aims to make Amsterdam more sustainable and verdant, one tree at a time.

On November 2nd, residents of Amsterdam were invited to collect a tree from one of four distribution points across the city. They could choose between two native species: the Wild Spindle and the Field Maple. These trees, deeply rooted in Dutch history and perfectly suited to the local environment, are ideal for planting in gardens or on balconies.

To further connect Amsterdam’s green initiatives, every tree can be registered on De Gezonde Stad's tree dashboard using Life Terra's innovative tagging tool. Over the past three years, this dashboard has blossomed into a virtual forest, showcasing thousands of trees planted across the city. This year, the campaign added an impressive 7,000 new trees to this digital forest.

The distribution campaign was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on Amsterdam's landscape. Thanks to the collaboration between Life Terra and De Gezonde Stad, the city is not just growing, it’s growing greener!
