Tree day in Italy: Festa dell'Albero
More than 500 events, 250 schools with 50,000 pupils, more than 10,000 trees and a big green stain stretching across Italy against the climate crisis. These are the numbers of the Festa dell'Albero (Tree Day), the historic Legambiente campaign now in its 27th edition, which they celebrated over the weekend of 18 and 21 November. The festival was supported by partners AzzeroCO2 and the Italian Federation of Pneumologists.
This year's edition also involved the world of music. Thanks to the collaboration with Music for the Planet - the project launched last spring and supported by Music Innovation Hub, AWorld and Legambiente - Friulian singer Elisa Toffoli promoted a fundraiser during her latest tour aimed at planting trees all over Italy. Various events were organised, including the planting in Elisa's hometown of Staranzano in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the planting with EY Foundation and in Lombardia in collaboration with the Cariplo Foundation.
Also they planted 1,000 trees in Sicilia, Sardegna, Lazio, Emilia Romagna and Lombardia, thanks to the social network contest "Insieme piantiamo alberi" (Together we plant trees) promoted by Vallelata in collaboration with Legambiente.
Great job!
